Natalie Chanin shares her journey from up-cycling old t-shirts in New York City to returning home to Florence Alabama where she started her clothing line, Alabama Chanin. We talk about building a community of makers and prioritizing transparency in the supply chain. She also tells us about teaching the creative process through The School of Making and the importance of sharing skills with others.

I absolutely ADORE Natalie Chanin. Right now I am watching her course on MyBluprint on Embellishments. Her School of Making is about an hour from where I live and I hope to visit soon. I cannot wait to listen to this episode but I just found your podcast a week ago (actually I just started listening to podcasts ever a week ago and started off with yours!) and I am making myself start with the first episode and go through each one although I am tempted to skip ahead at least for this episode. I’m at episode 22 (not too bad for one week lol) and I hoping that there will be a similar podcast for 2019 with different challenges for the year. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and I am loving your podcast and I keep a notebook near me so I can jot down tips and people that I want to follow. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi,
Have you done a show on sewing while on the road? Projects you take with you to do on the place, in the car, on the beach?
Thanks, Cassandra
