My mom made a picnic blanket/quilt out of wool scraps back in the 1960s. It was simple nine patch with 6 inch squares with unfinished edges…so one side had the smooth seams, the opposite side with the raised seams (if that makes sense). It was kind of crazy quilt as so many colors, but it lived in the truck of the car for impromptu park visits. I wish I knew what happened to it!
