Sunday discussion…..we haven’t had one for a while. 😊 . How do you rate your sewing self? 🤔 . . Do you feel inspired or angst when you see other’s sewing? 😳 Do you lack confidence and think twice before posting? Do you double guess what people might be thinking? Do you think “will my post get any likes?” and that little voice of self doubt creeps in? Or do you just look? . . Importantly, how do you rate yourself? . . If you’re not rating yourself as good enough or better….or being your very own cheer squad then you’re letting yourself down. We can all be our own “good enough”. Not perfect. . . The SewOver50 community is very supportive from beginners (yes, we all started there so we know what it’s like 😃) to intermediate to our gifted couture sewers. The only difference is practice….not passion or you wouldn’t be here with us. 😊 . . So, share your passion. Suspend that self doubt and post. After all, when it all boils down to it we’re not in it for the “likes” we’re in it because we ❤️ sewing. . See @sewcialists post 11 June about connecting with the online community…so many fabulous ideas in the comments. (Swipe right for the post photo). . C’mon and shine! 🌟 . . How do you rate yourself? 🤔 We’d love to hear your thoughts. . Do tag us at #sewover50 so that we can see what you’re up to. 😁 SD☀️ . . #sewover50 #sewinclusive #sewcialists #sewingcommunity #sewingisforeveryone #memade #handmadewardrobe

    Hello!
I am curious to know if you ladies recommend a type/brand of project carrier to use when transporting your unfinished projects to and from classes, meet-ups, sewing at a friend’s house etc.
I have a hard case needlepoint carrier that is a tri-fold with handles and zips and I LOVE it; it keeps the aida flat so it doesn’t end up all bunched up at the bottom of a tote bag – only creates the few folding creases from the tri-folding action.
Is there something similar that exists for sewing projects? I’m assuming it would look something like the giant portfolio I used to carry back and forth everyday in art school – but hopefully with some tri-fold action so you just open it up and viola! Everything is layed out nicely.
Or how do you transport your projects from place to place? Love to know if you have any ideas!
    Thank you,

Thanks so much for your question, Lilly! We do not have a specific carrier for transporting our projects, but this is definitely a good idea! Typically we just store them in totes. We noticed that there are a lot of good Pinterest ideas out there for better organization and transportation though, which you may be interested in: https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/199073246007846617/

Thanks for your support in listening to the podcast!

Hi! This episode was fantastic – thank you! What is the name of the PDF wide format printer you use in Vancouver? I have been looking high and low and can’t find one that is reasonably priced and prints quickly. Thanks!

Hello Laura! We mentioned a Canadian one called sewyyc. There are also online ones such as pdfplotting.com and printyourpattern.com!

Quick comment about the ‘messy’ sewing room. I do ‘tidy’ my sewing room but actually, if I can’t finish a whole project in one day or sewing session, I actually intentionally leave it a bit miss. I lay out a few things, ready to pickup in an instant, so I don’t feel like I have this ‘hurdle’ of having to haul everything out again.

For example, If I’ve cut a pattern out, I might even pin the first pieces together and leave them beside my machine. It means I get started right away and then of course I just keep going.

I’ll also fill my bobbin and thread my machine for my next project *as soon as I finished my last project*. All the more enticing to get started. You know?

I feel like this community would have so many fun ideas. 😀
