I just began listening to your podcast last week. Love everything about it. I’m old…74… and I’ve been sewing for over 60 years! But I’m learning so much just listening to your podcast interviews. ❤️ I’ve always wanted to make slopers and design my own patterns…or at least make sure the pattern fits perfectly. I’ve taken many classes on Bluprint including several by Suzy Furrer. So to listen to the interview with her was so amazing and inspiring. I also loved listening to your Speedy Sewing episode. All the excuses…been there many times. I listen to these podcasts while taking my daily walk. Very glad there’s a couple of years worth to listen to 🤗 My husband bought me a new sewing/embroidery machine 10 months ago. Oh my gosh! It’s a Janome Skyline 9. I love technology…so it’s wonderful that I can design stuff on my iPad and send it WiFi to my machine to embroider! And I’ve begun quilting…which I never did before. But my passion is sewing clothing. I’ve seen for my 4 adult kids, their spouses, all 11 of my grandchildren and recently, my 6 great grandchildren. I’ll have to live another decade or more to do all the sewing I want. But I also have a Cricut die cutting machine…so I Design and make cards, mini albums and scrapbooks. I recently made, out of beautiful metallic finish soft papers…all of the flowers bouquets for my daughter’s wedding, including all 8 bridesmaids! I would encourage all listeners to pursue your dreams and learn new things. It’s never too late. And begin by listening to those who are successful at doing so. That’s why I listen to your podcasts. I become even more inspired. Keep up the wonderful job you are both doing. Love, love to listen. 🥰 By the way…I live in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Sherrie, thank you so much for sharing your journey and joy of making! It is truly inspiring. We wish you all the best with your upcoming sewing adventures! Thank you so much for your support!
Sherrie, I have the same embroidery machine and only had it a short while. I am your age. However, if you have time to give me any help on the wi-fi and IPad connection. I would appreciate it. We still have time to shine over the next few years!
How how how can people not tell you apart? Oh my god you are so easy to tell apart by your voices! Anyway, listening to you ladies has recharged my clothes sewing. My issue I have is finding classes near me that deal with NOT being a beginner. I want to level up my sewing. I want to do things better. It is great people are dealing with beginners, but some of us want to make clothes WELL. How do I deal with that?
Cathy, it’s good to hear that you can make the distinction :P! Have you considered taking online courses? Bluprint offers some courses that are definitely more in the ‘level up’ range, and though they are not in person, you do have the ability to ask questions and engage the instructor online. It may be something to consider! Thanks so much for your support, and for listening to the podcast!
