Mini-Episode 15: Pants Fitting + Sewing

This month, we are answering patron RXG’s question:

“I’ve only recently sewn my first pair of pants. They are comfy, but while I followed the instructions for measuring, the front rise is too loose. I just purchased the Arden pattern and can’t wait to make them! I would love additional tips that the two of you may have for making pants. Special techniques in measuring ones self? Measuring RTW pants that fit well and using that as the rise measurement? Are there special considerations depending on the fabric used that may affect the amount of drape and how that might make the rise looser? Also any tips on reinforcing pants seams – which seams and what techniques.”

We share our responses to these great questions in this episode!
