Carolyn Norman joins us to talk about sewing as a form of artistic expression. She shares stories from almost 50 years of sewing and inspires us to look at our sewing hobby as more than just making clothes. We talk about finding inspiration in your everyday life, being buried with your favourite fabrics, and her column in Sewn Magazine.

BEST yet! (Diary of a Sewing Fanatic) She was awesome and interesting.
I didn’t think I’d really connect with this episode, as Carolyn Norman’s style is pretty dissimilar from mine. But can we all agree that she should be World Sewing Ambassador? Queen of Sewcraft? I listened on my commute to work today and have never felt so empowered, so enabled and encouraged to let go my selfish sewing guilt and really explore sewing as my art and my form of self-expression. Carolyn doesn’t sound like she suffers many fools, so her articulation and her message are doubly appreciated by this occasional fool. I’m going to have put this on playlist rotation to amp up my sewing time!
Carolyn is amazing – thank you for this interview.
I follow Carolyn as well. I have been sewing it seems forever. I do not remember when I first learned to sew. It seems I just was sewing. I also remember sewing all my Barbie clothes. I have a lot in common with Carolyn and she definitely inspires me. Thank you for doing these interviews.
Great show, ladies!!! Truly enjoyed listening to Carolyn and her sewing journey.
